Mindfulness Class: Wednesday evening 18 Nov
22-Oct-2015 16:56

Do you want to manage the anxiety and stress in your life? Make better decisions? Increase your energy?

Mindfulness is a simple yet powerful practice that trains our attention and develops our awareness, enabling us to make wiser responses to stressful events. Come along to our weekly mindfulness classes in November & December.

What happens in a class?

After everyone introduces themselves, there will be a guided meditation lasting for up to 30 minutes, followed by a short discussion about our experiences during the practice (you do not need to say anything if you do not want to). This is followed by an informal practice (ways that you can bring mindfulness into your daily life that don’t involve meditating). We close each session with a short reading and a short formal practice.

What do I wear and what do I bring?

There is no need to wear anything specific. We meditate whilst sitting on ordinary chairs so just wear your regular clothes. If you prefer to use a meditation cushion or bench, please bring one if you can.

I’ve never meditated before, is that OK?

Absolutely! Come along and give it a try – we’re a friendly bunch. The classes are structured so that they are suitable for everyone, whether you’re a complete beginner, have a committed daily practice or if you feel you’re somewhere in between!

How much?

Each 1 hour class is £9 if you pay in advance via Eventbrite or £10 on the door (cash only).

If you sign up for a block booking, you can get 5 classes for £40, i.e. £8/class. Please contact me (farah@govanicoaching.com) if you would like to arrange this.

Once you sign up for your first class, I shall email you a short health questionnaire for you to complete. All information you provide is confidential, and is to ensure that I meet your needs during the classes.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

East Croydon station is close by.

If you are driving, Fairfield Halls carpark has stairs leading directly to the college.
